    Please joining me in congratulating three of our members for their recent accomplishments!

    Ratchneewan Ross, PhD, RN, FTNSS, FAAN, Professor, University of Louisville School of Nursing is a 2024 Sigma Nursing International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame Honoree.  Dr. Ross will be inducted at the 35th International Nursing Research Congress in Singapore on Saturday, 27 July 2024.

    What Kentucky Nurses Need to Know about Domestic Violence

    (Intimate Partner Violence)

    Target audience: Nurses and nursing students

    Topics: Intimate partner violence (IPV) with content related to vulnerable populations, discussion of power and control, cycle of abuse, IPV lethality assessment, resources, and strategy to facilitate difficult conversations.

    Objectives: Participants will define common language in IPV healthcare and discuss epidemiology and risk factors of IPV, identify IPV resources that can be utilized in various clinical settings and describe Kentucky's current mandatory reporting laws related to violence, and summarize proper utilization of the SATELLITE tool to guide conversations with survivors of intimate partner and sexual violence for trauma-informed screening and interventions.
